China’s Total Value of Imports and Exports in Foreign Trade Amounted to 23.55 Trillion Yuan in the First Seven Months of 2023

On August 8, 2023, the General Administration of Customs announced that in the first seven months of this year, China's total trade imports and exports of goods reached 23.55 trillion yuan, and that foreign trade has been running steadily in line with expectations.
In the first seven months, China's trade imports and exports with its largest trading partner, ASEAN, reached 3.59 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%. Trade with five Central Asian countries increased by 35% to 331.69 billion yuan. Trade with Latin America and Africa reached 1.92 trillion yuan and 1.14 trillion yuan respectively, up 5.5% and 7.4% year-on-year.
China’s imports and exports with countries along the "Belt and Road" amounted to 8.06 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.4%. This accounted for 34.2% of China's total foreign trade, an increase of 2.2 percentage points year-on-year, highlighting the growing diversification of international markets.
