TANG, Guohua

Tang Guohua is a partner at AllBright Law Offices in Hangzhou. His practice areas include real estate and construction, corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and dispute resolution.

Mr. Tang has spent more than two decades focusing on resolving many difficult and complex matters in his practice and has handled more than a thousand disputes, transactions,and other advice engagements. For example, Mr. Tangrepresented buyers in awell-known class-action dispute over housing sales contracts in Yiwu, he arbitrated a dispute over the transfer of intellectual property licenses, advised a Fortune 500 company on itsacquisition of a state-owned enterprise’s assets, and advised on the transfer of assets between a foreign-invested company and a state-owned enterprise in Hangzhou. He also serves as the retained legal counsel for several well-known domestic and foreign enterprises and public institutions.

Mr. Tang currently serves as a member of the Zhejiang Province Committee of the CPPCC, executive director of Zhejiang Provincial Bar Association, vice chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Bar Association, a member of the Pool of Local Legislative Experts of Zhejiang Province, a member the Pool of Local Legislative Experts of the Zhejiang Provincial Government, the chief expert lawyer in legal aid of Zhejiang Province, a member of the Legal Expert Advisory Committee of the Public Security Department of Zhejiang Province, a contract supervisor of the Higher People's Court of Zhejiang Province, a visiting professor at Zhejiang University of Technology, and a member of Hangzhou Arbitration Commission.

Mr. Tang has published many academic books in recent years, includingLawyer Practice Research (Volumes 1–6),Classic Cases Handled by Lawyers (Volumes 1–5) and other series.

Mr. Tang has obtained such honors as “National Outstanding Builder of Chinese Socialism”, “National Outstanding Lawyer”, one of the “Top Ten Lawyers of Zhejiang Province”, awards for outstanding contribution to criminal defense, “Outstanding Contribution to Lawyers' Causes of Zhejiang Province”, and “Ten Cases Handled by Lawyers in Zhejiang that have the Greatest Influence in Promoting Democracy and the Rule of Law”.

Mr. Tang graduated from Peking University Law Department with his LL.B. in 1985. He worked as a lecturer at the Law Department of Zhejiang University Guanghua Law School from 1985 to 1995 and concurrentlybeganwork as a full-time lawyer in 1988.

Mr. Tang is a practicing lawyer in China. His working languages are Mandarin and English.
