On September 29, AllBright partner Louis Meng was invited to participate in the State Council National Day Reception in Beijing as one of the 30 honorable Taiwan compatriots invited by the State Council, China’s cabinet, to join the gala reception. Mr. Meng said he was proud to be one of the participants of the great event.

The gala event was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the PRC. Senior national leaders presenting at the gala dinner included President Hu Jintao, China’s top legislator Wu Bangguo, Premier Wen Jiabao, Vice President Xi Jinping, Vice Premier Li Keqiang, CPPCC head Jia Qinglin.  All of whom celebrated the National Day together with outstanding representatives from all walks of life across China in a warm, happy and proud mood.

Premier Wen delivered a warm welcoming note during the event. On behalf of the CPC central committee and State Council, he wished all people in China a happy and relaxing holiday. He wished prosperity for Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan compatriots and overseas Chinese, and thanked expatriates for their contribution to the development of China.
