AllBright Partner Holds Lecture at Mizuho Bank
2013-01-074419On the afternoon of October 26, 2012, AllBright partner Ted Wu, at the invitation of the Mizuho Bank, delivered a two-hour lecture regarding legal practices of Japanese corporations concerning intellectual property (IP) protection. Wu became the first Chinese lawyer to deliver a speech at the bank’s headquarters in Tokyo. More than 300 of Mizuho Bank’s client companies’ chief counsels attended the lecture.
Japan’s prosperity largely comes from its high-technology inventions and Japanese companies take IP protection legal systems in countries receiving their investments very seriously. Fully understanding the needs of Japanese companies, Mr. Wu briefed them on China’s IP protection laws and legal practices with detailed and practical examples as well as offering feasible solutions to help Japanese companies strengthen their IP protection capabilities in China.
AllBright partner Theresa Qiu was also invited to attend the event.
The two AllBright veterans were well received by the audience, who stood in long lines to exchange business cards with them. Mr. Wu and Ms. Qiu answered their questions in a highly professional manner.
Prior to this event, Ms. Qiu was invited by the Mizuho Bank to give a lecture regarding Legal Procedures of Foreign Companies’ Retreat and Liquidation in China to Mizuho Bank’s Qingdao and Wuhan branches in October and November of 2009.
