AllBright Lawyer among Business Delegation to Visit Australia
2014-10-304242AllBright partner Stone Shi has recently been among a 20-plus member business delegation to visit Sydney and Melbourne, Australia, in pursuit of business opportunities. Other delegation members included entrepreneurs from the Zhejiang/Shanghai Non-local Enterprises Federation, the Shanghai Creative Industry Association and the Shanghai Jiaxing Entrepreneurs Association. In addition, the delegation also visited Canberra, the capital city of Australia, and had an in-depth discussion with Australian officials regarding business investment opportunities in Australia and the country’s latest overseas investment rules and regulations.
Australia is China’s eighth biggest trading partner, fourteenth biggest source of imports and seventh largest export destination. Australia is the sole country among China’s top 10 trading partners that maintained both export and import growth during the global financial crisis. Australia is also the only country that did not fall into recession among OECD countries during that period.
AllBright partner Stone Shi was awarded a scholarship granted by the Australia-China Council and studied at the University of Sydney as visiting scholar in 2012. Mr. Shi is an Advisory Board Member at Larkin Group and acts as a veteran consultant for Australian corporations like SILC due to his Chinese legal knowledge and experience.
