On October 21, 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping spoke at the 100th anniversary of the US-Europe Returned Scholars Association, which took place at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing and was attended by approximately 3,000 guests, including China’s high-profile officials and renowned overseas-educated scholars.

President Xi Jinping urged overseas-educated experts and professionals to contribute to realizing the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation, whether they return to China or stay abroad. It has been more than 100 years since China began sending students and scholars abroad. They have made great contributions to the revolution, building and reform of China.
