AllBright Lawyer Gives Seminar on Legal Issues for Internet Financing
2014-12-304575On the afternoon of December 29, 2014, AllBright partner Victor Wu participated in the Legal Risk of Internet Financing & P2P Seminar at the invitation of Shanghai Bar Association and delivered a speech entitled P2P Legal Issues.
It was the second time for Mr. Wu to deliver a speech on internet financing legal issues at the invitation of the Shanghai Bar Association, after delivering another speech in November. In the two-hour seminar, Mr. Wu briefed about the development of internet financing and P2P in China, its legal risks and the relevant risk control measures.
China’s internet financing has been growing rapidly in recent years. However, legislation and regulation regarding the sector is lagging far behind the industry’s development, exposing market participants to a number of legal risks. Mr. Wu’s doctorate research focus is on internet economics. He is a seasoned lawyer in areas of practice such as securities and capital markets, corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and banking and finance. His experience and expertise in internet economics, finance and law make him stand out among his peers. Mr. Wu has focused on the research of legal affairs regarding internet financing and has gained rich experiences in daily practice.
Mr. Wu has handled the establishment of the P2P arm of China Citic Group and advised the P2P platform. Additionally, he has also represented a number of P2P and payment companies.
His speech on internet financing and the P2P sector was well received by the audience, who hailed his speech as informative, practical and helpful.
The seminar was so popular that the event venue was fully attended by more than 120 lawyers from law firms in Shanghai.
